Congratulations to Ben Bliss, Winner of the Zarzuela Prize in Operalia 2013, for being honored with the Metropolitan Opera’s 2026 Beverly Sills Artist Award!
“The annual $50,000 award recognizes extraordinarily gifted singers with rising Met careers. Established in 2006 by an endowment gift from the late Agnes Varis, a former Met Board member, the award is given in honor of the legendary American soprano Beverly Sills.”
The award has been presented to several Operalia Laureates in previous years: Joyce DiDonato in 2007; Susanna Phillips in 2010; Ailyn Pérez in 2016; Lisette Oropesa in 2019, Angel Blue in 2020, Anthony Roth Costanzo in 2021 and Rachel Willis-Sørensen in 2025
