PLÁCIDO DOMINGO’ OPERALIA
The world opera competition
Has celebrated 20 years (1993 - 2013)
(Teatro Filarmonico – Verona)
Monday 19 – Sunday 25 August 2013
This year edition will be memorable in the history of Operalia, due to the level of the singers (12 admitted at the Finals instead of 10), the quality and the efforts of the jury (14 members instead of 12, coming from the most prestigious institutions in the world), the anniversary and the results that have consecrated this competition as the most important in the world.
“Operalia is like the Olympic games for the opera: singers from all over the world compete to get to the finals and to win. The enthusiasm and the joy of life of this new lymph and blood showed that opera will live forever and never die.”
Plácido Domingo
