Congratulations to this year’s biggest winner, soprano Janai Brugger for her astonishing accomplishment: Three prizes including, 1st Place Prize, Pepita Embil Zarzuela Prize and one of the competitor’s favorite prizes, the Public Prize. We also would like to congratulate Chinese Baritone Yunpeng Wang for winning, 2nd Place Prize and the Public Prize, in his home country. Only 4 months after winning Operalia, we have two singers who will be making their New York Metropolitan Opera debuts. Later this month Janai Brugger will be singing Liu in Turandot and Quanqun Yu (2nd Place Prize) will be signing Leonora in Il Trovatore. As a true testament to our goal as a competition, Operalia has come full circle in what it set out to do which is to discover, honor and launch the careers of young singers.
Most importantly we want to congratulate all the contestants of this year Operalia Competition for a tremendous effort. We hope your experience at Operalia has given you new tools and opened many new doors for your ever-growing careers.
None of this would be possible without our main sponsor Rolex. Thank you for your continued and dedicated support. With your help we are continuing to grow and make each year better then the last.
Once more the Operalia Competition has continued to be THE world’s opera competition for young singers all around the globe.
